PELVIC FLOOR PAIN
Pelvic floor pain occurs due to tension in the pelvic floor muscles and in the subcutaneous connective tissue.
Those affected suffer from stabbing, burning, dull pressing or pulling pains in the area of the testicle, the tip of the penis, the perineum or frenulum.
The symptoms can be exacerbated by prolonged, one-sided sitting on hard and/or narrow chairs. Prolonged, one-sided standing can also worsen the symptoms. Cycling on a hard and/or narrow saddle can also intensify the symptoms. Those affected may find relief by changing their body position. However, in rare cases, this is not the case, and the opposite effect can occur. For example, running, jogging, or brisk walking may worsen the symptoms. Exposure to cold, such as prolonged sitting on a cold surface, long hours of work, or walking in cold temperatures, can also cause pelvic floor pain.
Pelvic floor pain can be caused by injuries or surgeries in this area. Chronic diarrhea or an urge to urinate that one does not want to relieve can also lead to a sustained contraction of the sphincter muscles of the bowel and bladder.
Pain -relieving pressure, applied according to trigger point therapy, releases muscle tension at the muscle attachments of the pelvic bone, connective tissue and perineum.
Since passive therapy alone is not sufficient to relieve pain, a combination of posture correction/posture training, as well as stretching and relaxation exercises, is a major part of the treatment.

VAGINISM
Symptoms:
Pain and cramps in the lower abdomen during sexual intercourse
Causes:
tense pelvic floor muscles
Injury (from accidents, rapes, operations)
Vaginismus is not caused by an unconscious psychological issue that can be resolved through conscious solutions to psychological problems. A lack of synergy between the pelvic floor and lower abdomen leads to increased tension in the lower abdomen, which can cause the symptoms mentioned above.
